I realize that I could be taking a huge financial mistep, but after serious consideration, I’ve decided not to become an Increase 3000 Partner with “Dr.” Todd Coontz.
For those of you who live under a rock, or perhaps don’t watch Daystar Satellite Network at 1:00 A.M. on Monday mornings, Todd Coontz is the host of “Financial Solutions with Todd Coontz,” an exciting show that teaches viewers how to make their wildest financial dreams come true by sending Todd Coontz money. He also heads up a “ministry” called Rock Wealth Ministries, which helps people learn how to make their wildest financial dreams come true by sending Todd Coontz money. He also goes on the road to lead seminars where registrants can learn how to make their wildest financial dreams come true by sending money to Todd Coontz. Basically, Todd Coontz is a rennaissance man.
While the website is somewhat sketchy on Todd Coontz’s qualifications (hence the quotes around “Dr.” which I’m fairly certain is honorary), the praise of him is effusive:
Businessman, Entrepreneur, Television Host, Financial Teacher, Philanthropist, Best Selling Author… are the words others use to describe DR. TODD COONTZ.
Yes, all those things do come to mind when I think about Todd Coontz. (You remember his best seller, don’t you???) But how did they leave out what a snazzy dresser he is? He is, nearly singlehandedly, bringing back the coordinating shiny silk tie/pocket hanky combo. You can tell he’s financially sucessful: he has a silk hankerchief in his suit coat pocket! I would bet anything he has a closet full of tassled loafers. And, while you can’t tell in the pictures, I’m certain he is wearing the ultimate symbol of style in men’s dress–the gold tie clip.
So you see how excited I was to learn that I could become an increase partner with Todd Coontz and share in his “financial annointing.” For only $84.00 per month, I would receive these exciting benefits:
What are the benefits of Partnership?
| • | Monthly in-depth teachings on CD or DVD that are specially selected by Dr. Coontz for Partners Only. | ||||
| • | Exclusive Internet access to Increase 3000 Partner features on our website. | ||||
| • | What are the benefits of Partnership?
A beautiful and durable Increase 3000 Partner card giving you a 30% discount on most product offers. |
||||
| • | Increase 3000 Partnership PAK. | ||||
| • | The satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of others. | ||||
| • | A monthly letter from Dr. Coontz, sharing his heart and updating you on how God is changing lives through television, seminars, and Partner meetings | ||||
| • | Periodic gift items and ministry tools are selected to thank our Partners for their monthly Seeds. |
But, the website also promises this:
“As a treasured Partner, you also share in the anointing and financial mantle on Dr. Todd’s life as he agrees to faithfully pray for you, your family, and your finances on a daily basis.”
By this point, I was looking for my credit card. I need to get in on this deal! Where else can you get a Partnership 300 PAK? I looked on ebay, and even ebay doesn’t have them!
But then something hit me. What if Todd Coontz really just wants my money? What if he really can’t promise to let me share in his financial annointing?
Then I had other questions about RockWealth Ministries. For example, the website says, “Partnership offers an exceptional and meaningful opportunity to reach millions with the Gospel!” Yet the website doesn’t say how Todd Coontz reaches anyone with the Gospel. The site claims:
“The weekly program, ‘Financial Solutions with Todd Coontz’ is only one component of what we do collectively as a ministry. Although ‘Financial Solutions with Todd Coontz’ can be seen in over 50 million homes in the United States, we are much more than what you see on television! Thousands interact with us via our interactive website: www.RockWealth.org, and many more share their testimonies of family healing, salvation, favor, and financial breakthrough with us via the mail.”
However, the “interactive” website is mostly interactive in allowing users to send money to Todd Coontz (wait…I’m noticing a trend.) Nowhere on the website is the gospel of Jesus Christ presented, though to be fair the “gospel” of prosperity through giving to Todd Coontz is presented pretty vigorously. To underscore the global reach of Rock Wealth Ministries, the front page of the site features full length shot of Todd Coontz smiling and pointing to a picture of the world, overlaid with flags of various countries: Algeria, Egypt, Rwanda… Presumably destitute people in third world countries can improve their plight by sending money to Todd Coontz. How egalitarian!
Still, I might be slightly more confident “sowing my seed” with “Dr.” Todd Coontz if I had some idea what he was going to spend the money on. Maybe all the money goes to feed poor children in Africa, or for legitimate missionary work in Asia. But the fact that the website and the “Financial Solutions” program don’t even mention what the money will be used for is disturbing for two reasons. One, that Todd Coontz is unashamed in his blatant appeals to sell God’s blessings to others for financial payment. And two, that people are actually gullible, greedy or desperate enough to send him money.

The fact that “Dr.” Coontz specifically tells people that they should send him that $1000 no matter what – even if it is your LAST $1000 – is chilling. His hard sell is, to those who don’t scrutinize every word, virtually guaranteeing the viewer will get lots of money within 30 days if they send him $1000. And – no kidding – he’ll send you a free “gift”. It’s a book entitled, “Don’t Reposess My Car.” There’s no question this twisted rapacious twit absolutely knows who he’s targeting and dealing with: the most vulnerable people in society virtually dying for a miracle. He belongs in prison. (And I’ll happily spend my $1,000 to encourage that!) Think of all the misery he has caused by conning desperate viewers out of their money. To do that, you cannot actually have a soul or a conscience. This man, if he’s actually religious, has to believe he’s going to hell for this. If he’s not then religious, then hey, no problem.
Based on his pitch and his entering into a “contract” with “you” on the air, he’s low hanging fruit for federal prosecutors.
Let’s hope.

I was up early (4 a.m.) and “entertained” myself by zapping around the airwaves. It’s amazing the crap that gets thrown at early morning (or late night) TV viewers. I watched Coontz for a while. He’s just like the rest of them. Just like them, he rambled on and on about “sowing the seed”, i.e. sending (him) money, promising ten-fold returns. Yeah, right! Having watched so many others of his ilk, I knew what was coming. What I couldn’t believe is that he was asking for $1000, NO LESS !!! What is it with this country? Don’t they have LAWS against emotional extorsion?

Coontz is a Mike Murdoch clone to the absolute “T”. He has all of Murdoch’s body movements, verbalizations, all his financial “double speak”…(uncommon, seed, harvest, coming into “agreement” with you, etc.).
Do not send this man money. The only agreement you’ll come into with this man is that you’ll agree to send him money and he’ll agree to accept and spend it. I would love to be a fly on the wall in conversation between Coontz and Murdoch…they must belly laugh at all the folks that send them cash.
DON’T DO IT…!!!

I’ve known this guy before he got famous. He went to my church, of course only when he was invited to speak or do the offering call. And it never failed, the same spill you are talking about. It’s sad to see that now he has “moved up” and is being seen by more, even on Binny Hinn. Quite sad. When he’d speak, my family and I would leave the room. It’s disgusting. That is not the gospel and that is not what Christ taught. The Gospel is not about getting money and I would love to see him try to back up his lies with Scripture. When he uses Scripture, they are manipulated and not used in context. It’s sick. I hate what he does.

I saw Todd Coontz for the first time this morning on Benny Hinn. I had recently written to Benny Hinn about the connections he has with Steve Munsey, Morris Cerillo, and Mike Murdoch. I have wondered about his connections with Paula White. I have a personal story about Paula that is very discouraging. I emailed the Benny Hinn Ministries twice and asked for a response. To date, I have not received a response. I told him of my concern that I feel these men have gone astray from the Gospel of Christ. I have been a partner of Benny Hinn Ministries for years and without a doubt I have been feed the true Word of God and have been greatly helped by his ministry. I am concerned with Pastor Hinn who teaches the truth about the financial Kingdom of God from his own teaching, while, at the same time, uses the likes of these to gain financial support for the ministry. I wonder if Benny simply does not see them the way I do. I could definitely detect the same spirit in Todd as I have seen in Murdoch. Thank you for your blog as it is helpful.
I am not stupid but I am soft hearted to people in need. Because of that I am suspect to be duped for a wile but not for long. I have now sharpened my mind In His Word that God is not a get rich quick God and anyone who says He is…well, He is sovereign. He is not going to ask you to send someone money to get instant wealth until He teaches you how to handle that wealth to glorify His kingdom.
Monitory wealth is powerful and I hope God gives it only to those who will not be tempted to worship it. We should not use God or Jesus to obtain wealth. We are to worship God and not mammon. God loves those who give out of need and not out of greed (The widow woman who gave equivalent to a penny).

It is amazing. I am a pastor of a small church and teach our members to be on the watch for these bottom feeders that have attached themselves to Jesus Christ and The Gospel for personal gain and wealth. These parasytical preachers have one agenda, “making money.” I know several of them personally. They have no shame and the saddest part of all is the ignorant masses that are hoodwinked and give all they have on the empty promises of these wolves. John Avazini has commented that Jesus wore designer clothes, not off the rack. I thought it was amusing that I was at a local men’s suitwarehouse where you can buy 3 suits, shirts, and ties for $300.00. To my surprise guess who walked in? Ol John Avazini himself. I could not help myself. I wondered and asked what he was doing in an off the rack store? He made his way to the door quickly. I have been waiting for some lawyer [by the way, I believe lawyers are a few notches above these money grubbing deceivers] to see the possible class action lawsuit for false promises and advertising. I hope the folks that read this will not lump all pastors/teachers in with this snakie bunch.

I think it is sad that people who don’t understand something, would rather put it down.
I also think that it is sad that people who talk don’t really know what to talk about.
Be careful!
The word of God says touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm.
What works for some may not work for others. Your faith is what takes you to any level of belief in God.
It is better to pray about something and seek God. God will give you the gift of discernment, if you ask.
It is God’s place to lead a person, not man.
I would be careful as to whom to call fake and whom to call real.
God is the judge, not man.
God is the author and finisher of any man’s faith.
To call Paula White, TD Jakes, and others fake is unreal.
Sometimes men and women of God can be mistaken in their views, it does not make them fake. It makes the interpreter of the person’s action mislead.
Sometimes men and women of God truthfully believe what they preach and have seen individuals empowered and blessed by their words.
Calling someone fake without truthfully understanding is just WRONG!
Misinterpretating an individuals words, belief, or way can lead to false teaching and misjudgement. I would be very careful to say anything.
Just because someone is scorned does not mean that others are scorned.
Matthew says judge ye not! Be careful o little one who has a beam in his own eye. It is a scary thing to judge a man by what you feel and not what you know.
Again,
a man’s action at one time does not make a man.
We all have character flaws. Our characteristics does not make up a whole man. Man is intertwined with twist and turns, and made up of many parts. Be careful as to what part we call whole and then judge.
I’m just sayin’………

It is actually quite sad to me to read the responses of people on this blog. First let me say that I am totally in agreement about Todd’s ministry which was discerned by the Holy Spirit, not simply because he is a minister on television.
It seems to me that so many of you all writing on this blog have some extreme resentment to see preachers that are doing well financially. Don’t get me wrong if you have people who are not utilizing that money to advance God’s kingdom and support the poor, lost or hurting people, then it makes sense to think of them as swindlers. But just because you have Paula White, Joyce Meyer, TD Jakes or other ministries that request your donations or to sow a seed for various things that the ministry is involved in does not make them fake or out to steal your last cent. Do you all think the gospel will get out to the world for free? Do you truly believe satellites spreading the word of God to nations will happen without money? I have personally benefitted greatly from each of these aforementioned ministries and many others based on the word that has been sown into my life and the breakthroughs and revelation I have received.
I personally don’t have a problem with seeing anyone in ministry doing well financially (homes, cars, nice clothes, etc.) because God’s word promises provision, supplying all of our needs, and doing abundantly above anything we dare to ask. God is no respector of persons and it doesn’t take away from the prosperity he wants me to have just to see them with it. I’m not sure if what you all expect is to see these ministers in rags or what? Many of you really need to understand that though there may be some wolves in sheep clothing, there are many ministers on tv getting the lost saved, opening up people’s minds to living beyond a barely-just-get-by mentality, and helping people to experience a personal relationship with Jesus.

I just watched this idiot Coontz on BET Inspiration that runs from midnight until 8am or as I call it, “the laugh factory.” It’s one phony preacher after another, from faith healers, to mind readers, to profits and potions. Most of these preachers look like Satan and certainly have the same intentions.
I feel no sympathy for any clown that donates so much as a penny to these TV thieves. As a matter of fact, they deserve what they get. It is amazing that adult human beings with so much as half of a brain cell buy into this crap. This is the ONE and ONLY reason these satanic lunatics keep on going.
Since the United States has so many ridiculous laws implemented by waste of life politicians, why not create laws that ban these diseases from the airwaves. The US lawmakers will never ban these comedians from the airwaves because they are too busy creating laws that inconvenience honest, hard working people.
I am so disgusted with these late night malignancies and know there is a special place in hell for each of them.

Misinterpretating an individual’s words can lead to false teaching. Sharvey is absolutely correct in say this. All prosperity peachers have misinterpreted the individual named JESUS CHRIST. Yes, Jesus the only Son of God has been put aside and his Gospel used to generate the wealth of some who call tehmselves servants of God. They are not servants of God, however. They are self-serving individuals of whom the Bible speaks would come in the latter days. Such individuals worship everything but the Creator. They serve mammon and they spread false teaching and false doctrines. They are servants of Satan. All who do not see these things happening are blind and are lost because they have been taken in by such false Doctrine. So to all those who must know the real Christ, his real message, and his love, I suggest that you study your Bible carefully, meticulously, apply hermeneutical rules and apologetics. You might then want to agree with those who despise and hate false doctrine, which is what GOD wants YOU to do. God himself hates such people and their false doctrine.

I just watched the good “Dr. Coontz” ask for 91 people to send him 91 1000 dollars “seeds wrapped in faith” for an “uncommon” harvest of getting a house debt free. I desperately looked through my Bible, but can find no passage in which God can be manipulated by me. He recited the mantra at least a dozen times “faith determines divine timing”. Which means, God must respond to me when I act. He is claiming that I can control God. Which means, of course, that God is not sovereign, I am, according to the teaching of Dr. Coontz. There is a pattern that emerges from all of these teachers, Murdoch and the whole bunch…which is this idea that God will do what I tell him, when I tell him. You can never challenge their argument, because they will tell you that you don’t have enough faith. If you did, you could move a mountain. But, notice, their faith always centers around money and wealth. Yet, the Bible is not book about developing financial wealth, but instructs us, clearly, to forgoe the desire for financial wealth…the gentiles chase that…we are to focus on seeking God’s Kingdom first. God’s Kingdom is not a bank in which we wrap up our seed money, deposit it, and get a payback. We cannot claim, or declare, or covenant to make God our banker. Yet, these evil men, these false teachers who lead people astray, will shamelessly take your last dollar, telling you that they can agree with you to control God. I pray that no one falls pray to these ravenous wolves. God loves you. His love is not demonstrated to you by success or wealth in this world, but by the most important gift of all, the free gift of eternal life through His son, Jesus. Note, the gift if free. You don’t have to send me, or anyone else money to get it. But, when you do, God asks that you go and make more disciples, saving more people, passing on His unconditional love, for free. That is what is meant by bearing fruit for the Kingdom, not some self centered drival about acquiring wealth. God wants you to focus on Him, not on your money. But, don’t let someone twist that into the idea of sending money to prove your faith. This is not requested or required. Tithe to your local church, not to some charlatan on television who is making promises he can’t keep. I just don’t understand why the church doesn’t step forward and cast these evil men out…they are not scared to take a stand for greed, why are we scared to take a stand for God against them. Think of what they are doing to people with new or no faith who are seeking. They are destroying souls forever. God will not forget what they are doing. We need to pray for those whom they are doing it to, that God will save them from this false teaching.

He is a cross between Donnie the Swaggart and Mike the Murdock. I agree with one of the above posters. Don’t be taken for a ride by these snakes.

Please people, you that send money to Benny Hinn and other TV preachers, send it to me instead. I won’t lie to you, I will probably spend it on my family and myself, but so does Benny Hinn, so what difference does it make? Listen, I’m just a blue collar truck driver who is just trying to survive. If you want me to pray for you, ok, I will when I get your money, but being honest (and I am) I can’t guarantee that anything will come of it to benefit you. I also might forget to pray for you, (being honest). The only thing I can promise you is my happiness and my being grateful for your money when I receive it. That should probably be enough don’t you think. I live in an old house in a lower middle class neighborhood, not like the rich televangelists who live in mansions and are conning you out of your hard earned money. I really do speak with honesty, isn’t that refreshing.

I liked Doug’s blog. So true.
Unfortunately for me, I was nieve and apparantly feeling guilty for not “measuring up” and felt somehow I could be a part of a “bigger ministry effort” when I watched other TV “evangelists” and got suckered. It wasn’t Todd Coontz, but rather his friend Mike Murdock that “inspired” me to send $1,000.00 to Inspiration Ministries. I woke up after giving $150 and stopped the nonsense. I was one of those fearful, lonely, insecure women who works nights in social services for next to nothing and they just caught me on a desperate night and I fell for it. They don’t need my little $1,000 BUT SOMEONE DOES. Perhaps my grandchildren or MYSELF even. There are good people out there who will use your seed for good, but you have to investigate WHICH I HAVE NOW DONE. Fool me once shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me. I still can’t believe they can stand there and do this stuff.

Of course sadly the joke is on the poor fools who send these jokers even one dime of their money – and shame, shame, shame on the Inspiration Network, BET, and other airwave merchant$ who lend them even an ounce of credibility! And shame on David Cerullo and Benny Hinn – two good and anointed men who tragically have apparently $old out to the likes of “doctor” Coontz and his mentor “doctor” Mike Murdock. Gene Keeth said
The reason the Church doesn’t kick these wolves out is easy when you consider that approximately only one-percent of professing believers share the gospel on a regular basis. The true Church is much smaller than men think. The gate that leads to destruction is truly wide, and false teachers like Coontz are doing nothing to lessen the vast number of souls that are entering there.
“Judge not lest you be judged” is one of the most taken out of context scriptures in the Bible. Scripture tells us that we will know God’s children from others by their fruit, meaning their actions. False teachers and prophets as well. Mathew 7:1 is speaking of a hypocritical judgment. If you see a person kill, or rape, or steal, you can say, “That is wrong!” Our prisons should be empty if we took Mathew 7 out of context.
The astute Bible student knows that to gain proper understanding of scripture is not as hard as it seems. All one has to do is pool together all scripture pertaining to that subject. If there is any contradiction, you can be sure you do not have the correct interpretation.
Coontz, just like the hordes of other false teachers roaming the earth, loves to use Old Covenant theology to prop up his act of preying on people’s emotional, financial, greedy, and covetous desires. While seeking earthly gain was common prior to the sacrifice of the cross, Jesus clearly preached a new message of denying ourselves and storing treasure in Heaven. I’m not even going to attempt to lay all of the scriptures before you because I do not believe it will matter. For some, you need no convincing. Praise God for that. For others, though, it will take divine intervention from the Holy Spirit. You already know the scriptures I speak of, yet you have been persuaded by man to believe something else, something totally contrary to the words of Jesus Christ himself.
Unless a man is born-again he will perish. Looking with lust is the same as the physical act according to Jesus. How long has it been since you looked with lust? Telling one lie makes you a liar. Stealing one thing in your whole life, regardless of its value, makes you a thief. Using God’s name in any irreverent way is blasphemy. Have you ever had a covetous spirit?
Jesus said, “Repent or you will perish”.
Where does your allegiance lay?
Jeane M. said
Thanks Mr. Keeth because I couldn’t have said it better myself. I’ve heard and seen the “judge not” statement used so much over so many years, that I’ve begun to ask myself if those who say it knows what exactly it pertains to. Can you imagine the perhaps millions of persons these men (and some women) are helping to destroy by their false-hoods, which those who don’t know their Bibles, or read them very seldom are falling under their destructive ’spells’ rather than knowing the ‘truth’ via God’s Word, by reading and ’studying’ the Bible for themselves?
Where’s the message of believing on God and His Son Jesus Christ, accepting Him as your Lord and Savior, repenting of your wicked ways, and asking Jesus to help you clean up your life once and for all. This sounds like the ’70’s with the ‘Me Generation’ (send me the money, I can help you prosper, I have a prayer cloth for you, and so on and so on), and truthfully I think that God/Jesus are beyond sick and tired of all this crap from us disrespecting, disbelieving folk. God is not playing folks, either we’re going to do it His way because of ALL he’s done and sacrificed for ‘ALL of US’, or we’re going to be ‘eternally separated’ from Him for “ever” (in other words Hell, and we can’t say he didn’t give us the opportunity while we were hee on this earth).
When did almost ‘everything’ about the Gospel of a Savior who gave ‘His’ life for ‘ALL’ mankind, suddenly boil down to being ‘all about us’, and the ‘continual happiness and prosperity’ that we can have by “living our best lives now”? Can someone please find out where in the Bible God said this to us, because I haven’t found it yet, and why constantly ask for such “huge” amounts of money? Can I see your books to find out what you’re doing with it?
Lastly, when exactly does ‘enough become enough’, why it comes to the way they lie and say “God told me thus and so”? Isn’t there a verse in the Bible that says for the protection of the body of Christ, we’re supposed to ‘call them out’ when they lie on God (or Jesus, or the Holy Spirit) in order to not bring down the name of Christ to open shame? Think of the sinners who might have turned to God/Jesus in their hour of need (or to those who wanted to have a relationship with God/Jesus), but after seeing what’s going on have ‘decided’ that it’s not worth it?

I have been trying for the last year to get “Dr” Todd to quit calling me with his inspirational messages. I’ve requested this of his organization no less than 6 times, once I even talked to a manager, yet I’ve received 3 calls since my last request. I checked out the Rockwealth Ministries website and noticed the address. I called the AikenStandard newspaper to see what they might know about this character. I was informed that the listed address on the website is only a few blocks from the papers address. The person at the paper I spoke with told me that she checked out the address and did not find that fine sign at the address listed on his website. Then she went to the papers photo department and their opinion was that the Rockwealth sign was photoshopped in. Is this possibly true? Isn’t that against some law in South Carolina? But mostly, does anyone know how to make the phone calls stop? I’ve registered on the “national no call list”, blocked 800 & 900 calls from being received by my phone, yet “Dr Todd” still gets through. This isn’t some “divine intervention” is it? I must say I was very put off by these calls for their brazen maliputive message looking to dupe poor souls looking for salvation. I would never send money to people like this, but now they have made me angry. I asked only to be left alone, why won’t “Dr Todd leave me alone in my own home? I wasn’t looking for him, and I sure in the hell want him to quit looking for me! Who can help get these calls stopped?

These people on church tv, who often like genuine degrees from real seminaries are nothing more than scam artists. I would never send Dr. Tood Coontz a nickel, and the same goes for Benny Hinn, Paula White. Creflodollar, Joyce Meyer, and now even Joel Olsteen and his “co-pastor” wife. They are all a bunch of phonies. I commend Senator Charles Grassley and hope the feds will crack down on private jets, luxury mansions, vacation homes and luxurious vacations somehow twisted into “mission trips”. Many, like Joel Osteen have 100 percent of board members as family members who also receive handsome compensation. I believe the prosperity gospel and the nation og God’s special favor are bull. I hope many end up spend a few months in a prison.
I am an attorney, family father and spouse, and have served two terms as an officer in a mainline church that would have a church court and terminate virtually all the tv ministers shown repeatedly on cable television. Paul of Memphis, Tennessee.

I don’t know a thing about this person, just found this link when retrieving articles on the web about being debt free. I do want to share this revelation that the Lord gave me. If you have been born again you too are the Lord’s anointed. The quote touch not the Lord’s anointed is often used to defend man’s own actions. In reality it should be known that born again Christians are anointed. Therefore, you too are God’s anointed, Rejoice for you too should stand bold and claim that promise. This was such a freedom to me knowing my Lord anointed me too, not just a thing to be spouted over tv preachers, etc.

This country is full of idiots! How you can you feel sorry for these morons who send these dirtbags

Coontz, Roberston, Hinn, etc etc etc etc must laugh all the way to the bank thinking of these jerks sending them their last dollar as they live in multi million dollar homes and drive luxury vehicles.
People falling for Nigerian internet scams, Bernie Madoff Ponzi scams, preachers railing against homosexuality while “knowing” gay prostitutes on the side…..what a country !!!!

For each and every person, whether agree or disagree, here is the key, I remember what the scripture says, in this, whatever you do in all things do as unto the Lord, if you do what you must;be it seeding into the ministries, attending to the sick, clothing the naked, feeding the hungry, helping the poor, whatever it is, you are commanded by the Lord to do it as unto him. It isn’t important to criticize the minister’s for what the message you might mis-interpret or miscontrue, but what we should do is as unto the Lord, pray for them, pray for the work they are suggesting they are doing, pray for wisdom on both parts, which means, if they are right pray for that, if they are wrong, pray for that, if you were really concerned, and really thinking in terms of what the truth is, the bible also clearly says, that you should pray for your enemies, pray for those who despitefully use you and say all manner of evil against you falsely. Did you catch that ‘falsely’. Who is to say, they are not being spoken against falsely. The bible says no one knows the mind of a man save the spirit that is within in him. Are you going to say ‘you’ have that place, as the spirit within man? I doubt that, the story of ananias and saphira should caution anyone for lying to the Holy Spirit. If you don’t know about it, read it in the new testament, they lied about thier dealing with money and were struck dead. SO when you hear these ministers saying if they are lying,
are not telling the truth about thier confession of faith concerning money matters, they know that God can and will bring death upon those souls who choose to lie to the Holy Ghost, so do your research, and don’t pass judgement on that which you do not know for certain. The bible says judge not least you be judged in like manner. There is only ‘One Righteous Judge’, so let him be the judge of what is true and of good report. Then we will see His hand at work in much to do with life. I pray that God continues to lead us into all truth always and that He will continue to bless us with His knowledge that leads us into ‘All truth’.

I also believe that Todd Coontz is preaching a false gosple that only benefits him.
But there will come a day when “Dr” Coontz will come face to face with the Lord and if Todd is a hippocrate then Jesus will profess to him,
I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity.
Matthew 7:23

To all who have given even after you feel you have been deceived,,, I would say that it is a lesson to be learned,, but remember one thing, Im sure you gave in Faith and God will honor that. The Televangelist who are operating in deception will be judged because if we dont judge ourselves, we will be judged the bible says. Dont feel guilty that you felt desperate to give one night when you couldnt sleep. Trust God to meet a need with the seed you have sown. From here on out if you belong to a church, give to your local church. Sometimes the devil uses certain ministers to take finances that should belong to the local church. I lived in Tulsa back in 88 to 93 and the pastors father was a well known evangelist. (Not Oral Roberts) And afte he would preach, he would first give an opportunity for those who had never received Christ to get saved. (#1 Priority always) Then he would take up an offering but he would always say, dont give me your tithe, that belongs to your local church. God always blessed him and he never lacked for finances.. Praise God

I have been looking for spiritual programs, when I hear God mentioned I stop and listen looking for something to feed my soul. These beggers for money sicken me and I am imbarassed that they are on TV saying God in their breath as they beg for money. Truly it is sickening. I do wish they would be investigated and stopped someway. I would not send them any money. After my husband passd away I was looking at TV early in the morning and found, Peter Popoff and Don Stewart I wanted so bad for a Miracel I sent them $1.00 and ask them to pray and when I get the big check I would send more. I get all kinds of things from them asking me to send more. I don’t know what to think, thanks for your comments and letters. Keep them coming.

This crowd of snakes – these “doctors” of ministry – better hope and pray (providing they really ever do) – that nothing in the Holy Bible is true. And that’s what I think they really believe. Because if it is, they are in doo-doo deep and plenty. And shame on BET for presenting these shows on their network. I realize it reprsents big bucks. But it is a huge disservice to their viewers and especially in certain areas they have committed to serve. Every time I see Coontz, Murdock, Hinn … any of them, I feel like I need a shower.

I pray for all of them Hinn, Koontz, etc. and hope they see the error of their ways someday. The sad thing is, they probably think they’re actually serving God and doing good things for people. They don’t think of themselves as scam artists. They’ve convinced themselves that wrong is right. God bless them.

In his testimony, Todd Coontz said he went to a flower shop to get some flowers for his girlfriend, only the shop had no flowers. The shop owner then ask Coontz what he did for a living. Coontz stated he was in finance. The shop owner then ask Coontz if he would like to manage his money! Coontz then said he had more money in HIS hands than he ever had. Wow, some testimony! What a crock. Coontz is a liar like his mentor Mike “Money” Murdock. A flower shop with no flowers, a man asking a total stranger to manage his money? Coontz should quit his job as money grubbing TV preacher and do what he does best, write fairy tales! This guy is a digusting piece of manure.

I just heard Todd Coontz in Sydney today at the Entertainment Centre. I couldn’t figure out why so much performance and emotion about what seemed to be an appeal to give money to support an outreach in the Congo.
I cannot understand Todd’s metaphorical use of the word seed. A farmer when he plants seed still has the seed and still has control over it while it grows. Giving seed away is not farming it is giving. There is no control over seed that a farmer gives away to someone else. It is lost with no expectation of return, unless the farmer has an agreement with the person he gives the seed to to get a profit from a crop or to get the seed back plus a portion of the harvest.
Todd’s argument is not about sowing seed it is about giving money away.
Ellen said
The giver is the farmer and he has a covenant with the the great I AM who he gives the seed to who then will bless the farmer with a profit from a crop or bless the seed back plus a portion of the harvest. He who has ears will hear. Read the WORD. Pray for wisdom. Listen. The goal is souls. Spread the Word. You are to serve God and do battle against the enemy who wants YOUR soul with him in hell for eternity. You will die and go to hell and burn forever without salvation. You must choose. You are given a choice. Choose life or death.

“There’s a sucker born every minute”
This country has to be filled with the biggest collection of morons and uneducated brain dead idiots who have made these con artists
multi millionaires. I can just see them laughing at these suckers all the way to the bank.
All you have to do is go to a public library internet and Google anyone of these scam artists to see pages of their rip-offs. My favorite is Popoff whose wife used a radio transmitter to transmit messages to Popoffs earpiece receiver as he went thru the audience telling the suckers what diseases they had ( his wife had previously went thru the audience and asked the people what they were suffering from and then wrote the info on a 3×5 card with what clothes the person was wearing and the disease they had and then went backstage and transmitted the info to Popoff so Popoff could go up to that person and tell him God was telling him about his disease.)…..and the whole scam was broadcast on the Johnny Carson show in the early 1990’s and this dirtbag is on the TV again…..is every person in this country a complete idiot ? I think
Neanderthals making tools out of stones 50,000 years ago had more intelligence than most of these morons giving their hard earned last dollars to these con artists.

It is a simple fact that the Apostles were not wealthy when it came to currency or worldly possessions. However, they recognized that whatever they had belonged to God, and they were willing and enthusiastic about sharing it with others. (Acts 3:6)
Keeping this in mind, we understand that Christians today are not forbidden from being wealthy. In fact, 21st Century American Christians for the most part enjoy an embarrassment of worldly riches. A short visit to any Third World impoverished community would quickly verify this.
It is possible to be a wealthy Christian, but the Bible contains warnings for those who are blessed by God with worldly riches. First, they are to recognize the difference between earthly riches, which are temporary, and true “riches,” which are eternal. Second, they must remember that there is a high calling upon their life to distribute what God has given, and to communicate with those whom God wants to bless through them.
“Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate.” II Timothy 6:17-18

In July of 2008, Todd Coontz took his money grubbing show to Johannesburg, South Africa. There he joined forces with Benny Hinn in a “Miracle Crusade” of epic proportions. At some point during the crusade, Todd made an appeal that people of the Christian Faith are getting used to hearing. “You’ve Got Two Minutes To Become God’s Next Millionaire… Only Two Minutes People! He told the congregation everyone who sowed $1000.00 within the next 2 minutes, God was going to make them become millionaires and billionaires within the next 24 Hours! Per the local pastors, over a thousand people sowed $1000.00! How many of them became millionaires! Just 1, Todd Coontz! 1000 x $1000 =? Sad to watch so many being fooled by these vipers. “Dr” Coontz is such an obvious con man that it’s laughable. As others have mentioned, the clone of the great man of God Mike Murdock….LOL. Most of these guys are very clever with coming up with just the right amount that God told them to tell us to give. When it was 9-9-09 I watched Marcus Lamb come up with several different amounts that people should give. After all, he said God was speaking to him at that very moment to tell his ‘partners’..Wow…are these a sign of the end times when you realize that these folks are broadcasting this false message around the world? Anyone that even considers sending money to these rich fake preachers should read Proverbs 22:16

Look, all your angry and judgmental words betray a wrong heart. I know, because I just had to erase my initial comment, which was far too corrective and with an irritated spirit as well. We all deal with it—so let’s DEAL with it! It’s called the flesh, and it’s sin. Let’s spend our time on better, more noble words and pursuits that are truly edifying. I know many of you will respond defensively about “discernment” and all, but as for me, I have to guard my heart! And true Holy Spirit discernment is still done in love. I do not find much of that here!
realdeal said
Well J.A.H. Do you think that ‘love’ is just done within your heart and not done in a way to help your brothers and sisters? Do you think it is a waste of time to try and gather the sheep back into the fold after the wolf has come? Let me tell you in a gentle way. I do not hate, I am not angry, and I am not judgemental. As for your comment “I know many of you will respond defensively about discernment and all, but as for me ,I have to guard my heart”. Are you referring to 1 Cor 2:15? Pardon me, but I want as many to be saved as possible. That goes for Ken Copeland and all of his kind of money preachers. In the mean time, I would like to see people getting the true word of God and not some get rich quick scheme that only makes the Ken Copelands of the world richer while they rob God, not of money, but by spreading false gospel. I will close with this….Why in the world would any one have to send Mike Murdock/ Ken Copeland or any of these folks money in order to get God’s blessing? Why? A person could do so much more good with his money by giving directly to the poor. Think about it.
